motherhood, the good, the bad, and the UGLY!!!

This was recommended by the lactation specialist at the pediatrician's office!
Will wonders ever cease?

Okay, I must admit I mocked it wholeheartedly!!
What is not to mock?
But hands-free is a nice idea right? Frees you up for so many many things.

Perhaps this lady will now have time to:

update her wardrobe; seriously... denim shirts?

visit a hair salon, and I do not mean Super-Cuts or the terrible place Meg's mom took Hadley!

get a Palm Pilot/ iPhone/ secretary

get rid of the 1990 cell phone! If you still have a phone this big... well, I won't go on!

where is all her milk????

why is she at the Sears portrait studio? Does she work there?

What I have found in my research:

i can get in a 20 minute nap when i pump

i can eat while i pump

i can read while i pump

i can feed a baby or two while i pump

since it is strapless i can wear the bustier under almost anything! HA!

i look ridiculous while wearing, it but multitasking is a way of life now!

i made Andi pee her pants the first time I wore it.

I guess it is all worth it... right?

what a way to start the day!

Since my mom headed back to Chicago, we have been surviving...

... on coffee and sugar!

Hey at least it's not pastries and Bloody Mary breakfast!!

de la Calle's take Seattle

The week my family was in town was the hottest Seattle has seen in 30 years.
It was also the coolest July week Chicago had seen in many many years!
Coincidence... I think not!

Val meets her "tiny buddy" Marlo

Tia Buddy Val is smitten from the first second!!!
One million kisses is what she dished out!

... but wait, it seems Marlo is loving her back!
Tia Buddy, you are sooo funny!
Are we your new "sweeties" now?

Morning playmat time with Abuelita Nancita and Pops!

This was a dream come true for Pops.

We got to have our first heart to heart.
You give some good advice Pops!

... and you are silly too!

de la Calles take one!
Notice the grandparents can not take their eyes off the babes!

Take two!
Much better!
After a coffee stop at the new Starbucks we are ready for some serious shopping, de la Calle style.
We love grandparents and U Village!

heatwave 2009!

Seattle's little taste of 'true summer' could not have come at a worse time.
Two brand new babies and a house full of family!
This is how we survived!

Cool rags and naked babies

These gals are HOT!
It was a steamy 90 degrees in our house!

Every day and night a struggle to keep cool, yet these gals slept like, well, babies!

Sweet relief.
The only bath Marlo has not screamed thru!

This was the look Eme gave the weatherman as he claimed the heatwave would continue!

Marlo was also scared and reminiscing about her cool bath.

But we all survived, no worse for the wear!
Summer tried to kick our butts, but we kicked back!
Bring it on, we are ready for anything now!

the first month

In the beginning we were so tiny!
Marlo 5lbs 14 oz
Eme 5lbs 5oz

Then after just one week, we grew to be 6 plus pounds each.

Thanks to Auntie Ty we have our cool age stickers... Just like Max.
Here we are at 0 months of age!

Week three of life was a tough one!
We cried all the time, and hardly slept!
Our moms were going BANANAS!!!!
We did have one great day where we tried on our french berets and sent birthday wishes!

We finally settled down week four... After all, we are growing up.

Wow, how time flies- we are a month old!!! Old enough to wear pretties in our hair, and sit up like big girls.

Eme 7lbs 14 oz (20th%)
19.75 inches (10% still a shorty)

Marlo 7lbs 15 oz (20th%)
20.25 inches (20th %)
