chicago birthday extravaganza

Our Seattle birthday was a small adult party to celebrate that we survived the year.

In Chicago, I had a little something else in mind;

Oh yeah, we bought this little beauty!

Even some of our Seattle pals came for the party, or maybe it was the half-marathon I talked them into. Anyway, they were there and we love them for it!

Wow, that Aimee can SING! I think I love her!

Julie and Ethan, and inside momma, is little Riley!

Aimee, one of my favorite people in all of the world.  I always wanted her to sing for my girls and she did! Thank you Aim, hope you will always be a part of their lives.

We get to do this every year!!!  YEAH!!!

I hope Eme grows to love her big day as much as Marlo!

Rosh Hashanah

L'shanah tovah!

This year was a tinch different than last. The girls are a year old and can help celebrate.  We wanted to come up with our own tradition for this holiday so we decided to make Challah bread as a family.  Andi was asleep but encouraged us to go for it!  We did!

now, we clean up, right?

What should we do while it bakes Truman?

Well, sing songs of course!

3 Juicy Apples

Three little apples hanging on a tree. Shiny, juicy, waiting for me. Here I come, shake, shake, shake. Down come apples for me to take. I'll wash them well, then I can eat. Apples and honey for a Rosh Hashana treat.

Bongo Room brunch YUM!

We brunched at the world's best little gem of a restaurant, The Bongo Room, where dessert is breakfast. YUM, YUM AND did I mention, YUM!

Not too many pics, 'cuz when the food comes you are taken over by the amazing culinary delights they set before you.  You bite, savour, devour, and leave in a yummy, dreamy haze called Bongo Bliss.  I actually don't even remember leaving the restaurant.

What happened?

We went to Chicago with the girls for the first time.  We had a ton of "firsts" while we were there, way too many for a single post.  So here is the first batch of cute shots hanging with Abuelita and Pops.

Oh, and Luna got some smooches too!
