3 I'll say it again 3.
Three?!?
The girls are THREE!
and their mom never blogged about it!
My little ladies, little mamas, little turkeys, my chickens, the best little roomates we could have ever hoped for are growing up at an alarming pace.
They have broken the sound barrier of big
and are no longer are the babies that my head and heart see.
I can not believe it!!
Emerson, who we have always called Eme, one day decided on her own that her name was going to be MIMI. "my name is MIMI! uhg" I cannot believe that my ears heard my very own tone echoing back at me. Pretty sure that I am screwed. I love that she is independant. I love that she does her own thing in school and on the playground, no one bosses her or makes her feel bad! I love that she has confidence and courage. I am afraid of her bravery, and yet so proud that she is fearless to try new things and master the things she knows.
Mimi, I love that when you count it goes like... 11,12,13,14,11,12,13,14. I love that you can sing the alphabet but would not recognize the letter F (or many of F's 25 friends) if it smacked you in the face, but you can sing along to the radio songs. I love that you are starting to speak in Spanish with my parents, and sometimes bust it out when no one is expecting you to. I love that you love to be read to. I love that you are crazy about my best friend's son; I'll see how I feel about that in the future. I love your laughter, it makes my heart happy. I love that you have your own sense of style, and we can not influence the way you dress. I love that you love to be a princess ballerina, not just one or the other. I love that you twirls around the house like a ballerina and most times you fall down, but you just get up and try again. I love that you have a very serious dance face, just like mommy! I love that you are charming and you know it. I love that people are drawn to your warmth. I love that you have empathy in spades. I love that you are caring. I love that you always check in when someone is sad. I love that you call Truman "my best boy" even though he takes food from your hand, knocks you down, and is generally not that into you! I love that you are so willing to let your imagination explode into stories and conversations, and some pretty amazing art. I love that you love Val and my mom, but ADORE my dad. I love that you are free with compliments and are always telling us "that's a great job mom", or "mom that's a great idea". I love that you are not afraid to ask for help! I love that your enthusiasm sometimes turns you into a bull in a china shop. I love that you love your sister, but still love to push her buttons and smirk. I love and hate that you have my tone. I love that you are so very very sporty! I love most of all how free you are with your affection! I love that you will always say I LOVE YOU!! or whisper a quiet "i love you momma" just when i need it most! I love that you say things like "mom, this is serious business", and when things are serious I become mom and not mommy or momma. I love your love and I love your eyes and i love your sassy smile! MIMI you make my life a great pink place to be and for that I am so very, very grateful!

Cookie, who is now going profesionally by Marlo, and Cookie only in her personal life. When you ask her what her name is she states "mawlo and cookie". Perfect! Marlo is so amazingly different from her sister. This gal can hang with the best of 'em, if we are in a room full of engineers! Marlo has a mind that one day I will no longer be able to keep up with. This little gal can spell her name, has known the alphabet since age 2, can count up 'til..., well i've lost count. She is tender and sensitive and that sometimes makes her appear weak or needy, but she is very very strong in her will.
Marlo, I love your tenacity and determination to master new tasks. I love that I can see growth thru your art. I love that a few months ago you were exclusively using the color purple for everything, and now you draw rainbows and flowers and people of all different colors. I love that when you draw people they always need eyelashes, eyebrows, and earrings. I love that you can build amazing towers with your blocks. I love that you put together a puzzle as if you are in an instructional video, talking thru the whole process. I love that you must always have sunglasses. I love that when we turn on the lights in the morning you tell me "it's too sunny". I love that you love school. I love that when you are sad or hurt only Andimommy will do, but you know when I need your love too. I love that I made you, but you still look more like Andi than me. I love that you only see good in people, even after they do you wrong. I love that your favorite mode of transportation is now the piggybackride. I love that you are kinda a scaredycat! I can only handle one daredevil! I love that your love for reading is strong and that you love to go to the library. I love that it took you just a week to potty train and you did it on your terms only after mommies found the right motivation for you- My Little Pony. I love that you accept change but are always trepidatious. I love and hate that you only eat like 4 foods and despite our best efforts you will not try anything new!! I love that you want to play with the big kids. I love that you run like a monkey. I love that you love to cuddle. I love that you love music and every time we turn on hip hop you shout "its a partay!" I love that you love to dance even when it does not look like dancing. I love that you always look for the beat and then bop to it. I love that anywhere you hear music you will bust a move, raise the roof, and make us dance with you (even in the middle of the street, even in Nordstrom, even in a crowded restaurant). I love that you love to be tickled and that you ask to be tickled every night as I tuck you in. I love that you insist on a hug and a kiss even if I'm just going to take out the trash. I love that you learned to wink. I love that you are brave when no one is looking. I love your emerging sense of humor, it will be your saving grace one day! I love that you get how to find humor in situations. I love that you still call me mommy, but have busted out the "mom" a couple of times. I love that when you cry you tell me that you are very, very sad!! I love that you pout. I love that you refer to yesterday and any day that has passed as "last morning", as in "me already do that last morning". I love that you only use "me" and not "I", as is "yeah me do". I love that you love to hold hands. I love that you LOVE Auntie Bal. I love that you remember everything!!! I love your goofy, smiley, dancey, little monkey self!
I could not have dreamed up a better you if I tried!!
I love you!
