Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the food, the family, the friends, and the warmth that fills me when I host this event. Some of you were lucky enough to spend the day with us this year and meet my mom. I noted many comments about how warm and kind she is. Well folks, she is where it comes from.... not my warmth or tenderness, but my desire to provide that feeling to all those I love. Thanks mom for teaching me this and making this thanksgiving possible. Without you, I would not be who I am, and when people say "man you are becoming your mom", I say well, bring it on, she is SUPER!

Last year we were in a very different place; hoping and praying that we would have a healthy, happy baby. We must have hoped and prayed really well because we got two. How immensely lucky we are to have Emerson and Marlo.
I am....

Thankful to be a mom

Lucky to finally know what joy is

Thankful for the light in their eyes that makes me feel whole.

Thankful that in 21 years her tolerance will be well-established.

Thankful to see this smile on my mom's face.

Thankful for a wonderful family who accepts us for who we are and loves us unconditionally.
Thankful to have found the best "buddy "anyone could ever have.

Thankful for photoshop, so we can have Marlo be a part of the family picture above.
Thankful for therapists who will help her deal with the issues that come up when she finds out she was "photoshopped" in.

Thankful to all of my friends who are now family (you know who you are!); without you our dreams of becoming a family would have never been possible.
I am honored to have you all in my life and I LOVE EVERY LAST BIT OF YOU!!!

A quickie visit

Val was back for her monthly visit!
This time she brought her S.O., Bill, to meet the girls...
and us too.

They bonded!

After a few days, Bill turned into Uncle Bill.
We were delighted to have you here and we welcome you to our family!

Baby dance?

Every Saturday morning we pack up the girls and head out to baby dance class.
We have had many helpers including Abuelita, Maree, and this time Tia Buddy came along with Uncle Bill (not pictured).
Every time a visitor comes, the same question pops up; What in the world will we do?

This is how it starts, two darling sleeping babies.

The warm up!

And then the parents really get into it! There is stretching, running, lifting, waltzing, and singing. The adults work up a sweat!

All done, great class, and now off to the showers!
Thanks Tia Buddy- you were the best partner!
We love you soooo much!
Uncle Bill too!

4 months, part 2

We had our four month visit today! So the girls, the moms, and abuelita jumped in the car and faced the H1N1 battlefield at the doctor's office. Thank god that they have a "clean" baby room away from all the toddler snot- YUCK!!

The visit started out great: babies smiling, cooing and visiting with their beloved doctor Kristen! This did not last too long; after the initial exchange of pleasantries, the nurse really let them have it!!! THREE shots each and some rotavirus in the mouth! Too bad they are still too young for a sucker!

Here are the stats so far:

Emerson is 13lbs. 12oz. and 24 1/4 in. of cuteness! Placing her in the 50%ile, but well behind all the Wiersch babies!

Marlo is 14lbs. 1oz. and 24 1/2 in. of perfect chub! Can you believe she finally surpassed Eme? She is also among the 50%ile babies.

We will have to get some pointers from the cousins, or they will really look like the runts!
